Louis Vuitton Neverfull Old vs New Model
The Neverfull is one of Louis Vuitton's most popular bags but did you know it has been redesigned? If you're buying at the Louis Vuitton store then the new model is the only one available to you but if you're shopping preloved then you have your choice between the two. My personal favorite is the old model but there are pros and cons to both. The old model has a floral motif (in addition to stripes) and a script font on the interior while the new model just has stripes (no florals) and a block font. The interior pocket of the old model is lined with a thin plastic coating, as are the pockets of many older Speedy bags. This is supposed to protect the pocket and make is slightly spill-proof but the coating tends to peel over time which is...not great. The good thing is that you can find many videos on YouTube about how to remove the lining fairly easily. The biggest advantage of the new model Neverfull is that it includes a removable pochette. The downsides of the pochette are that many people have trouble finding uses for it and that, on the preloved market, the pochette is often separated from the bag. The upside, though, is that if you want the old model Neverfull with a pochette you can have both by purchasing preloved. My favorite and most reliable places to do this are Fashionphile, The RealReal, and Rebag. Whichever version of the Neverfull is your favorite, it is a classic and highly functional tote that is sure to meet all your toting needs.
